
It seems as though it was only yesterday when Microsoft announced their new phone, dubbed the KIN. Prerelease reviews were strong about the phone's incredible social networking powers as well as the well-received KIN Studio that allowed all new content on the phone to be automatically updated to the user's KIN profile online. Well it might seem like it was yesterday, because it almost was. The KIN was first sold a mere six weeks ago and will no longer be sold in America and won't be shipped to Europe later this year as initially expected. There were various reports buzzing about the KIN that before Microsoft pulled the plug, Verizon Wireless only sold 500 of the social networking devices nationwide. Microsoft neither confirmed nor denied these rumors but the company made it clear that sales was the reason for the cancelation. Microsoft announced that members of their team working on the KIN will be assisting Microsoft in their upcoming Windows Phone 7.
